I’ve got too many ideas and now that some of them are starting to take form, I’m getting a little nervous.
As of now, I’ve got my two websites up: motivatedtolearn.com and creativehomecomputing.com and have a fair bit of content on each. I transferred my newsletter from the Creative site to the Motivated one since the newsletter name is Motivation to Learn, plus I like the article layout I get with that host. It’s so much easier to post archives with links and summaries. During the newsletter transfer, I lost about 75% of my subscribers since they had to re-submit their emails, but the ones that did are probably more likely to read it. I’m aiming to publish on the 15th of each month and it seems to take me about 4 hours to do, even with the content in point form.
My seniors’ computer club starts at the local community centre next week and so far over 22 people have registered, most are complete beginners. I’ve got a plan for our first time together, but I’m getting less confident by the day. Especially since one of the seniors said “You don’t know what you got yourself into!”
To top things off, my Venezualan brainstorming buddy and I are working on a site for new Canadians and every time we’ve mentioned what we plan on doing, the response has been overwhelming. I’m beginning to think that this project is definitely more than just the two of us can handle.
I decided that this would be my make it or break it year for an online business, I just hope it doesn’t break me as well.

I recently started a line dancing class at the local seniors centre for exercise and have been going faithfully, although I don’t like it. I’m no good at it and feel like an idiot. Last week, while taking a long break in the hallway, I started talking to the recreation director about starting a computer club there. She thought it was a great idea and put up a flyer. Apparently there have been a number of people join already and the flyer just went up today.
There are no computers or Internet at the centre, so I intend to bring my laptop and go over problems, projects, etc. The local restaurant has wi fi so we could go there for the Internet once in a while. I’m hoping this club will be for mutual encouragement and motivation and no one will feel as stupid as I do when I line dance. We’re starting every week as of March 1st and I’m looking forward to it.

My Norton antivirus issue has finally been resolved and I am using my main computer again. A trojan virus had wrecked my windows files so much that I had to reformat the computer, but now it’s good. Norton’s final help was to realize that my account hadn’t been activated since I bought it online last summer, although I was using it until December - go figure. When I reinstalled it everything worked well and I am a happy computerer again.
I’ve been working on my new motivatedtolearn site and transferred a number of my articles over, as well as my newsletter. I had a couple of emails from readers about the change, which was nice, since sometimes I feel like I’m writing to outer space.
My newest gadget and birthday present is a little label printer and it’s so cute. I wasn’t sure if I would use it that much, but tonight it came in very handy. I’m having a baby shower for my daughter and rather than wreck my wrist writing (say that quickly), I printed off the address on labels and pasted them on the invitations. They look nice and saved a lot of time and effort. Tomorrow I’ll do the envelope labels and I’ll be all set. I didn’t like doing labels with my regular printer because it was so fiddly getting the data nicely centred. But this little printer does them perfectly every time and I can add little pictures, print all different sizes, and like I said before, it’s cute.
