Busy, Busy, Busy

This past two weeks ran away with me. I enjoyed every minute, but was sure ready for some extra sleep at the end of the time.

We started with eight high school boys and two older group leaders sleeping at our house for three nights. It was wall to wall hyper kids just enjoying their time together. During the day they attended church youth group outings, so we were only responsible for providing breakfast and late night snack. As for beds, young people adapt well to sleeping on the floor.

No sooner had the boys left when my husband, mother and I hopped in the car and took off to Cleveland for the week. Same scenario as the young people, except this time was for the overage and we did get to sleep on beds; for which I was thankful.

Playing With Fire

Filed under: life in Canada, family, learning, health — Grandma C. @ 9:58 pm

My husband has been doing some plumbing work to help install a friend’s shower. Since he isn’t a plumber by trade, things don’t always go as planned. The other day he was using a blowtorch and it backed up on him and started a fire. Not wanting to set our friend’s home blazing, he carried the blowtorch outside, badly burning his hand in the process.

We learn through our mistakes and my husband has learned to be extremely careful with fire. I don’t think he wants to be a plumber anymore either.
