You aren’t too old, too uneducated, too poor, too broken, too anything!
You are fearfully and wonderfully made and God has put so much potential into you. You have a special gift that’s meant for others. The experiences you’ve gone through can benefit someone else. Nothing you’ve endured is ever wasted. Sharing your story will strengthen you and help others.
Go Ahead And Dance
This is my granddaughter, dancing with complete joy and abandon and giving it everything she’s got. At three years old, no one has told her she needs to learn all the dance steps first.
She didn’t take a course, complete with certification; keep researching until she knew all the dance styles; or wait until someone told her she was good enough. She just danced!
And so should you – dance with technology, dance with Social Media, dance with taking your experience and expertise online.
First, take a deep breath, and then realize that during your lifetime you’ve gathered experience and skills. Ask yourself what you could do or talk about for hours on end. If you had the time and money to do anything, what would it be? What kind of books do you like to read? What experience do you have that would be helpful to others? What are people always asking you for help with? What challenges have you met and learned from that could be helpful for others too? Are there any sports you really enjoy? List your skills, hobbies, and collections. What seems easy for you yet hard to other people? When answering these questions, don’t think of anything as being too minor to list. Often we don’t appreciate the things we know and are surprised when we realize that not everyone can do what we can.
Then take that special knowledge and experience and share it with others online. The Internet gives you the flexibility to try out your ideas, to test and even to change direction without much cost other than time. If you’re not a techie, that doesn’t matter. There are tools that work in the background to do all of those technical things. This website will help you with many of those things.
Fifteen years ago I opened a small computer training business at a physical location. I made a lot of mistakes and spent money that wasn’t necessary before I found online marketing. Now I’ve realized that the Internet is one of the best ways to be self-employed. So if your dream has also been to have your own little business, there’s no better time than now. All you need is a computer, an Internet connection, and a passion to share with the world!
People need what you know. Don’t let technology intimidate you. My motto is “It’s never too late and you’re never too old, so get out of your comfort zone.” I can’t wait to see you dance!
