More Nashville News
I’m looking out a window of my daughter’s new farm house outside Nashville. Built from the stones on the property and their own hard work over the past year, she and her husband are finally almost done. Except that the phone won’t work properly, they can’t find anything, etc., etc. You know, all the little things that are enough to make you crazy.
I have been down here for almost three weeks, helping with the finishing of the new house and the packing of the old, and it’s nice to finally relax and sit at the computer. I can’t see anything but grass, trees, and the big pond that will one day be home to fish and ducks. I can rock on the porch and enjoy the sounds of crickets and birds, instead of sirens and horns. At night, instead of the steady noise of traffic, the frogs sing loud enough to be heard through closed doors and windows. There is a sense of peace here in the country that I will miss very much when I get back to busy, noisy, smoggy Toronto!
