Not Again!
Again the time has run away from me. As usual, I cannot believe almost a month has passed since I last posted. Where did it go - let me see……. My youngest son got married on the beach in Haliburton. The weather and the scenery were both amazing and other than my crying every time I looked at him, I had a great time. My favourite memory of the wedding will be the dance competition between my son and I and his new wife and her father. Each couple tried to spin their partner more than the other while doing an elegant waltz.
………….our stay at a rented cottage out in the country for the whole weekend of the wedding. There were 14 of us in all, wall to wall sleeping bags, but we had an amazing time just being together, especially since the family is all spread out now. My oldest daughter and family from Nashville, Tennessee, my daughter and grandson from Belleville, son and family from Sudbury, son from Toronto, youngest daughter and family from Cambridge, as well as hubbie and my dear mother - 80 years old but still wanting to be where the action is. My only missing child was the bridegroom, who understandably wanted to be alone with his new wife.
………then there were the visits to Sudbury to visit my oldest son and his family and enjoy the northern countryside.
………visits to Cambridge to watch my youngest grandson learn to crawl - much more fun than watching TV and we never tired of it.
……….then the usual daily activities and interactions with people, both family and friends, that make you thankful for the relationships you have.
So what have I learned from it all? How much more important people are than anything else. As I get older, the possessions don’t mean so much, but being with those that I love (including my God) - what more could I ask for?
